Legally it's risky. In February 2024 the FCC ruled that AI-generated voices count as “artificial” voices under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, so AI calls generally need the called party's prior express consent. That's why FunnelIQ's AI receptionist only answers incoming calls, tells callers it's an AI, and never makes outbound calls or sends texts.
